Project title: Machine Learning for Neural Source Localization in Brain Organoids

Brief project description: The research focuses on developing machine learning models for neural source localization in three-dimensional brain organoids using synthetic and experimental data. Initially, the study will investigate neural electrical activity recorded through microelectrode arrays (MEAs), followed by magnetic field measurements obtained using quantum sensors. The long-term goal is to integrate these complementary sensing modalities to improve our understanding of neural activity and synaptic function in healthy and disease models, potentially contributing to the development of more effective therapeutic strategies.
